Long-distance 3D Profile Scanning System—The “3D Insight” for Automated Loading and Unloading of Large Bulk Materials

H13 is a high-performance 3D laser scanning system specifically designed for large-scale bulk material handling applications. It integrates a long-range measurement LiDAR (ILS-F13) with a high-torque servo gimbal, offering an ultra-wide 3D field of view of 180° (horizontal) × 160° (vertical) and a measurement range of up to 80 meters.
For high-dust environments such as sand and gravel aggregates, domestic waste, and grain storage, the H13 employs enhanced multi-echo technology that can penetrate dust clouds and water mist to generate clear 3D point clouds. Not only can it calculate material volumes, but it also provides precise 3D guidance and positioning for heavy-duty equipment like automatic loading machines and garbage grab buckets, enabling an automated upgrade from “blindly feeling the elephant” to “precise operations.”

Traditional chute-based loading often relies on operators’ experience to perform “blind loading,” which easily leads to uneven loading (imbalanced cargo distribution), underloading (wasted space), or overloading and spillage (environmental pollution and safety hazards). However, due to significant differences in fuel density and varying moisture content, relying solely on weighbridges can easily lead to practices like “water injection fraud” or “passing off inferior goods as superior ones” (e.g., substituting high-density, heavy materials for lighter fuels), resulting in financial losses for the power plant. Moreover, transport vehicles often carry loads that are severely non-compliant—such as excessively wide or overly tall stacks. Manual measurement not only is inefficient and prone to large data errors but also carries a high risk of damaging unloading equipment or causing safety incidents due to vehicle overloading.
