Not only can it distinguish between passenger vehicles and freight vehicles, but it can also accurately identify special vehicle types such as specialized operation vehicles, container trucks, and car carrier trucks. The roof-mounted radar is responsible for measuring the vehicle’s length, width, and height, as well as detecting separated vehicles. The side-mounted radar scans the wheels, axles, and undercarriage contours. This combination ensures that both the rooftop air-conditioning unit and the suspended axles beneath the vehicle can be precisely captured by the system, providing the classification algorithm with the richest possible data input.

Even when multiple vehicles pass through the gantry simultaneously or larger vehicles obstruct smaller ones, the system can precisely extract the point cloud of each vehicle by leveraging the complementary data from multiple radars and independently model each vehicle. This ensures that, even under the most complex traffic conditions, every vehicle is assigned a unique ID—without any confusion or missed detections.
