ILS-07 Laser-Based Road Vehicle Identification System

ILS-07-005

Laser-based Free-Flow Highway Vehicle Recognition System—Empowered by AI, Ensuring Every Vehicle Has Transparent “Identity”

The vehicle recognition system is an intelligent vehicle recognition system based on laser 3D scanning and deep learning algorithms. Specifically designed for vehicle classification in free-flow highway environments, it enables holographic perception of moving vehicles—from their geometric outlines to fine-grained features.
The system integrates high-density point cloud data from both top-mounted and side-mounted LiDAR sensors. It not only accurately measures the vehicle’s length, width, height, number of axles, and axle spacing but also recognizes subtle features such as tractor heads, trailers, containers, and sideboards. Coupled with a built-in AI neural network classification engine, the ILS-07 achieves a vehicle model recognition accuracy rate of ≥98% according to the latest toll road vehicle classification standards, making it an essential tool for precise toll calculation, detection of toll evasion, and traffic flow analysis.

Precise Dynamic Weighing and Overweight Vehicle Detection & Guidance for Return

With the deepening implementation of the “National Unified Network” operation and the policy of “mandatory inspection for trucks and prohibition of overloaded vehicles,” highway toll plazas at entry points are facing unprecedented traffic pressures. Traditional static weighing systems are inefficient and prone to severe congestion; meanwhile, outdated dynamic weighing systems often prove inadequate when confronted with new cheating tactics such as skipping weigh stations, speeding through weighbridges, or driving in S-shaped patterns. Moreover, these systems struggle to accurately capture vehicle dimensions—length, width, and height—leading to oversight and misjudgments of overloaded vehicles. This not only results in lost toll revenue but also poses serious safety risks to highways.
