Collision Prevention and Stockpile Scanning for Large Port Stacking Machines
Scenario Requirements and Pain Points:
At bulk cargo terminals or coal storage yards at power plants, bucket-wheel stacker-reclaimers are massive machines with an extremely large working radius. During fully automated or remote operations, the boom arm is highly susceptible to collisions with nearby coal piles, other machinery, or vehicles, potentially causing severe damage to the equipment. Moreover, the sea breeze at port facilities—laden with salt spray and characterized by exceptionally high dust levels—can quickly render ordinary sensor probes ineffective, effectively "blinding" the machine.
Application Logic:
Install F13-C/F13-M obstacle-avoidance LiDARs at the front end of the stacker-reclaimer’s boom or on both sides of the traveling carriage.
- Collision Protection: The radar continuously scans for obstacles in the equipment’s operating trajectory and sets up multi-level deceleration and emergency stop zones based on distance, ensuring safe operation of the equipment.
- Stockpile scanning: Leveraging the radar’s long-range measurement capability, this system scans the surface profile of coal or ore stockpiles in real time, assisting the control system in determining the optimal material extraction points and stack height.
Technological Advantages:
The F13-C/F13-M is specially designed for harsh industrial environments, featuring an IP67 protection rating and resistance to salt-spray corrosion. In the high-dust environments typical of bulk material storage yards, its Multi-Echo technology acts like a “透视 eye,” penetrating through dust and fog to directly measure obstacles or the bulk material itself, ensuring stable operation even in sandstorms or during dusty work conditions. With an ultra-long measurement range of 120 meters, it fully covers the operational radius of large stacker-reclaimers, making it an indispensable safety guardian for port automation.
