In-Ground Vehicle (IGV): All-Weather, Outdoor 3D Obstacle Avoidance and Environmental Perception

Scenario Requirements and Pain Points:
Port terminals are typical all-weather, unstructured outdoor environments. During operations, driverless vehicles (IGVs/ARTs) face complex lighting challenges: intense glare at noon, low illumination at night, and reflections from waterlogged surfaces—all of which can severely interfere with the visual cameras’ ability to make accurate judgments. Moreover, terminal surfaces often littered with low, small objects such as container locks, maintenance tools, or traffic cones—traditional single-line LiDAR systems are highly prone to “missing” these objects when scanning from above, potentially leading to vehicle tires running over such objects, causing tire punctures or damage, and ultimately impacting port operational efficiency.

Application Logic:
A T70 3D depth-imaging LiDAR is integrated and mounted on the front bumper or the front undercarriage of the autonomous vehicle. The radar projects a wide-angle 3D detection field of view in the direction of travel, covering the near-field blind zone in front of the vehicle.
Anti-glare and obstacle avoidance: Whether under blazing sunshine or in rainy weather, the T70 can consistently deliver high-quality point clouds of the road ahead, accurately detecting obstacles on the road surface and triggering the vehicle to either bypass them or come to a stop.
Ground Object Detection: By leveraging a high-density planar point cloud, the system can effectively detect even tiny protrusions on the ground (such as latches), thereby filling the perception blind spots left by the main radar and visual sensors.

Technological Advantages:
The T70 adopts dToF (direct time-of-flight) technology and is specifically designed for harsh outdoor environments. It boasts exceptional resistance to ambient light, with a sensitivity exceeding 100,000 lux, completely resolving the longstanding challenge of traditional 3D cameras “dying” in bright outdoor conditions. With an ultra-wide field of view of 90°×70°, a single device can easily cover the entire travel path of large vehicles. Combined with an IP67 high-protection rating and an industrial-grade shock-resistant design, the T70 can operate reliably and stably over extended periods in harsh harbor environments characterized by high salt mist and high humidity—making it an indispensable near-field sensing sensor for unmanned vehicles in port operations.
