Intelligent Monitoring for Perimeter Intrusion Detection in Critical Infrastructure
Scenario Requirements and Pain Points:
Critical facilities such as substations, prisons, airports, and military restricted zones have extremely high requirements for perimeter security. Traditional infrared beam systems are prone to false alarms caused by interference from birds and falling leaves; camera surveillance suffers from visual blind spots and limited night-vision performance; and physical fences cannot effectively prevent climbing or sabotage. Security personnel find it difficult to achieve 24-hour, comprehensive monitoring without any blind spots, and frequent false alarms significantly reduce the efficiency of patrols.
Application Logic:
Deploy F13-C/F13-M obstacle-avoidance LiDARs on the tops or inner sides of walls, fences, or supporting posts. These LiDARs create a vertical or horizontal “virtual light curtain”—invisible to the naked eye—with a coverage radius of up to 120 meters. When a person or object crosses the light curtain, the LiDAR precisely distinguishes between human intrusion and minor animal interference by analyzing the target’s size, movement speed, and trajectory. Once an intrusion is confirmed, the system activates on-site alarms to deter the intruder and simultaneously directs the PTZ camera to automatically track and capture images of the intruder.
Technological Advantages:
The F13-C/F13-M is an active detection device that is unaffected by light conditions and maintains maximum detection sensitivity even on pitch-black nights. Its exceptional ability to identify black objects ensures that intruders dressed in dark night attire will leave no room for concealment. Compared to video analytics, LiDAR offers extremely precise spatial positioning, significantly reducing false alarm rates. Moreover, by cascading multiple units, it can cover perimeters stretching over several kilometers, dramatically lowering system deployment costs.
