ILS-E30-2 Laser Axis Identifier
E30-2
Laser Axle Identifier — Specializing in axle detection, with flexible video expansion capabilities.
The E30-2 is a mature and reliable high-performance laser-based axle detection system. It features a dual-LiDAR architecture (longitudinal + lateral) and is specifically designed for the precise detection of vehicle outlines, number of axles, axle types, and tire characteristics (single or dual tires).
The system uses high-speed laser scanning to construct a real-time 3D point cloud of the vehicle’s side and underbody, unaffected by lighting conditions, shadows, or body color. It accurately identifies axle types with a separation rate as high as 99.5%. A standard video interface is reserved at the top, allowing for flexible installation of high-definition cameras as needed, thus enabling an upgraded vehicle recognition solution that combines laser and video technologies. Whether you’re building a new weigh-in-motion station or upgrading an existing system, the E30-2 is an exceptionally cost-effective choice.

Overview
Accurately identify single and twin pregnancies to crack down on weight-blotting fraud.
The E30-2 features a unique lateral LiDAR sensor specifically designed to scan tire characteristics. It can precisely distinguish between single tires, dual tires, and “false floating axles,” providing the most critical axle-type information for weight-based tolling and effectively curbing fraudulent practices involving hydraulic ramps or suspended axles.
Reserved video interface for flexible upgrades
The system features a standard video installation slot and data interface at the top. Depending on your project budget, you can choose not to install these components for now, or you can add a high-definition snapshot camera to upgrade to a cost-effective “laser + video” fused vehicle recognition system, thereby safeguarding your initial investment.
Side-mounted design, zero damage during construction.
Adopting an integrated, side-mounted column installation method, it is installed on the safety island. There’s no need to damage the road surface to embed sensors, nor is there any requirement to erect gantry structures, significantly reducing civil engineering costs and minimizing disruption to traffic flow.

Non-on-site enforcement and the precise “counters” at overload control stations

The E30-2 is widely used at non-intrusive enforcement points on national and provincial roads, source-based overloading control stations, and highway entrances. As the core component of the weighing system, it accurately determines “What kind of vehicle is this?” and “How many axles does it have,” ensuring that weighing data corresponds precisely to vehicle information and providing a solid data foundation for accurate law enforcement.
Focus on wheels and axles, and calmly handle complex traffic flows.

Horizontal and vertical sweeping, stereoscopic perception
E30-2 features two industrial-grade LiDAR sensors integrated internally. The top-mounted LiDAR is responsible for... Vertical scan Accurately captures the positions of the vehicle’s front and rear ends, enabling vehicle separation; the bottom-mounted radar is responsible for... Horizontal scan , focusing on tire and wheel axle features.
This orthogonal scanning architecture ensures that even under extremely close vehicle following distances (<20 cm) or in situations where vehicles are side by side and interfering with each other, the system can still maintain exceptionally high separation rates and axis identification accuracy.

Smart algorithms expose the “disguise.”
How can we distinguish between single tires and dual tires? The core algorithm of E30-2 analyzes the point cloud features on the tire surface. The distinctive indentation between dual tires and the depth of the wheel hub are both keenly detected by the system.
Combined with big data models, the system can accurately identify axle configurations for freight vehicles in categories 1 through 6—and even recognize lifting axles that are in a “suspended” state—thus preventing underreporting of weight and missed charges.

On-demand upgrades—choose what works best for you.
The E30-2 fully takes into account the diverse needs of customers. If you only require weight measurement data, the standard pure laser version will suffice.
If in the future you need to capture license plates or perform more detailed vehicle classification (such as separating passenger and cargo vehicles), simply add a camera module to the reserved slot—no need to replace the entire device—and you can seamlessly upgrade to the “LaserVision All-in-One” system, maximizing the protection of your asset value.

Self-inspection and self-calibration—maintenance without worry.
The E30-2 is equipped with intelligent debugging software that supports power-on self-test, automatic calibration during idle periods, and zero-point correction, significantly reducing the frequency of manual maintenance.
The entire device features an IP65 industrial-grade protection design and comes with a built-in automatic temperature-control system. Whether in scorching heat or extreme cold, under rain, snow, or dusty conditions, it can maintain stable, round-the-clock, 24-hour operation. Its MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) exceeds 50,000 hours.
