AGV for safe obstacle avoidance during heavy-load yarn bobbin transfer in the synthetic fiber workshop
In the downstream packaging workshop for synthetic fibers, the transfer AGVs loaded with spools of filament have considerable self-weight and high inertial mass. As these vehicles shuttle back and forth between densely packed production lines and pedestrian walkways, a collision could result in severe injuries to personnel, as well as potentially causing the vehicle to tip over, damage the spools of filament, or even destroy expensive production equipment. Due to their wide body and frequent need to turn in narrow intersections, large blind spots exist on either side of the vehicle’s front end; thus, conventional contact-type anti-collision strips cannot provide sufficient braking distance.
Application Logic: Install YINTAILI’s ILS-F31-C obstacle-avoidance laser radar at the diagonally opposite (or at the four corners) of the AGV’s travel direction. As the radar moves with the vehicle, it creates a 270° electronic anti-collision net that covers the entire perimeter of the vehicle without any blind spots.
① Tiered Protection: The system is equipped with multi-level protection zones, including “long-distance warning” and “close-range emergency stop.” When a person or obstacle is detected ahead, the system first automatically slows down and sounds an audible warning. If the obstacle continues to approach, the system immediately cuts off power and brings the vehicle to a complete stop.
② Dynamic Switching: The F31-C supports real-time switching of the obstacle-avoidance zone shape via I/O signals, based on the AGV’s different states such as straight-line travel and turning. This prevents the AGV from mistakenly stopping during turns due to detecting walls.

With a scanning frequency of 15 Hz and a response time of less than 40 ms, it ensures that heavy-duty AGVs can brake and stop promptly even when traveling at high speeds. To address the unique challenge of fiber dust (lint) commonly found in textile environments, the F31-C has been optimized with an advanced internal filtering algorithm that effectively penetrates interference caused by floating cotton lint, significantly reducing false alarm rates and ensuring efficient, continuous operation of logistics systems. Its compact design also makes it easy to integrate into various AGV chassis without compromising vehicle maneuverability.
