ILS-E30-6 Laser Wheel Axle Identifier
E30-6
Streamlined Side-Mount Laser Wheel-Axis Identifier—Ultra-Thin and Lightweight, a Precisely Defined “Ruler” for Highway Tolling
The E30-6 is a high-end laser wheel and axle identifier specifically designed for highway “axle-based tolling” and “entry-weight enforcement” applications. Featuring a distinctive, streamlined industrial design, it not only boasts a stylish appearance but also leverages aerodynamic principles to effectively reduce the adhesion of dust, rain, and snow on the lens surface.
The E30-6 is installed at a low position on the side of the lane and uses high-frequency laser scanning to precisely capture the 3D characteristics of vehicle tires, wheel axles, and chassis. At vehicle speeds ranging from 0 to 40 km/h, it achieves a vehicle separation and axle-type recognition accuracy rate exceeding 99.5%. Its integrated, fully sealed design meets the IP68 protection rating, eliminating the need for complex gantry structures or upright poles, making it the preferred solution for modern, smart toll stations aiming to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Overview
Streamlined design, self-cleaning and maintenance-free
The E30-6 abandons the traditional boxy appearance and adopts an aerodynamic, streamlined design. This design directs airflow to naturally blow away dust and water droplets from the lens surface, significantly reducing recognition failures caused by lens contamination and enabling truly “maintenance-free” operation.
Low-position side mounting for precise capture of chassis features.
The installation height needs to be only 50–80 cm above the road surface. This unique low-angle perspective enables the E30-6 to bypass interference from tall vehicle bodies and directly focus on the axle and tire areas at the vehicle’s undercarriage—allowing it to precisely identify axle types even for special vehicles with complex chassis designs.
Ultra-thin and lightweight, perfect for various island countertops.
With a slim body just 146mm thick, this device can be directly mounted on the side wall of toll booths or installed on extremely narrow safety islands. It doesn’t occupy any lane width and does not impede traffic flow, making it easy to deploy whether you’re building a new site or upgrading an existing one.

Accurate billing—every single axle counts.

With the full implementation of the “axle-based tolling” policy, the accuracy of axle type identification directly affects toll calculations. Thanks to its precise laser scanning capabilities, the ILS-E30-6 is an ideal choice for highway ETC lanes, MTC lanes, and weigh-in-motion lanes at entry points. It can effectively identify trucks of classes 1 through 6 as well as light-duty trucks weighing under 4.5 tons, thereby eliminating toll disputes and revenue losses caused by incorrect axle count determinations.
The perfect fusion of technology and aesthetics.

Fearless of mud and water, intelligently filters out interference.
The biggest challenge in low-position installation comes from mud and water splashing up from the road surface, as well as exhaust fumes. The E30-6 is equipped with a signal-processing algorithm specifically optimized for roadside environments.
It can intelligently distinguish between genuine tire signals and interference caused by splashing mud and raindrops. Even if the lens surface is slightly stained, the system can maintain stable detection performance through gain compensation, ensuring that data remains accurate and reliable even in adverse weather conditions.

Millisecond-level response, precise fleet segmentation.
At toll stations with heavy traffic, tailgating is a common occurrence. The E30-6 boasts an exceptionally fast response speed, enabling it to precisely detect even the tiniest gaps between vehicles.
Even if the distance between the preceding and following vehicles is less than 20 centimeters, or if a trailer hitch interferes with the system, the system can still accurately identify the front and rear of the vehicle thanks to its high-resolution laser point cloud, achieving 100% reliable vehicle separation and effectively preventing scenarios such as multiple vehicles sharing a single barrier or tailgating to evade toll fees.

Comprehensive coverage, uncovering hidden axles.
The E30-6 can not only count axles but also identify them. By scanning the width of the tire cross-section and the depth of the wheel hub, it can accurately distinguish between single tires and dual tires.
For special vehicles equipped with floating bridges (lifting axles), even when the axles are lifted off the ground, the E30-6, thanks to its lateral scanning capability, can still capture the characteristics of the suspended tires, ensuring accurate vehicle axle counting and effectively closing loopholes that could lead to toll evasion.

Side-mounted design, zero damage during installation.
Time is money—especially at busy toll stations. The E30-6 can be installed without excavating the road surface or closing lanes.
Construction personnel only need to drill holes and secure the equipment on the side of the toll booth. Installing and commissioning a single set of equipment takes just two hours. This non-contact design also eliminates the problem of traditional inductive loop coils being damaged due to road settlement, significantly reducing lifecycle operation and maintenance costs.
