Application Case | LiDAR Powers Digital, Information-Based, and Intelligent Management of Automated Loading

2024-03-22

Case Background:

As industrial automation technology continues to advance, software engineering must also keep pace with the times, discarding outdated thinking and standards to adapt to the transformative changes of the new era. With strong support from national policies, key and core technologies for automated loading are steadily achieving significant breakthroughs, accelerating the shift in loading management toward digitalization, informatization, and intelligentization.

To address issues such as efficiency, safety, and information-based management, the automated loading system has adopted a “LiDAR solution” to achieve intelligent recognition of on-site conditions, including vehicle location, status, and the status of loaded materials.

Positioning

Lidar can scan and acquire data in real time, enabling it to calculate the vehicle’s current position and orientation. Based on the vehicle’s motion trajectory and information about the surrounding environment, the system can precisely determine the vehicle’s location, ensuring the accuracy of loading operations.

Material cutting

Lidar can monitor the material-cutting area in real time, identifying the location, shape, and dimensions of target objects. By detecting these target objects, the system can determine how to perform the cutting operation accurately.

Volume measurement

By scanning from multiple different angles and positions, LiDAR can acquire three-dimensional spatial information about the target object, including dimensional data such as length, width, and height. Based on this measurement data, the quantitative loading system can accurately calculate the volume of the target object.

Identify the material

As an industrial-grade optoelectronic sensor manufacturer, YINTAILI Technology has specially developed the Laimou ILS-H13 3D profile scanning LiDAR for automated loading systems. In quantitative loading systems, this LiDAR provides reliable technical support for volume measurement, positioning, and material dispensing through precise distance measurement and dimension capture. Its high-precision measurement capability and rapid feedback speed enable the system to monitor and control the loading process in real time, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of loading operations and enhancing the automation level of the loading system.
